It serves as a spiritual successor to the 1999 PlayStation game, Chocobo Racing. The magicite will give racers magic powers to use different abilities to get an advantage over the rest. During the September 2021 Nintendo Direct livestream, Square Enix unveiled Chocobo GP, a 'new kart racing experience set in the Chocobo universe.' The game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2022. These are Magic Eggs that contain Magical Magicite. Kind of similar to other popular Nintendo racing games that have existed for years, there are power-ups throughout the tracks.

Today, SQUARE ENIX announced that a free mobile app inspired by the upcoming kart racer, Chocobo GP, is now available for download on iOS and Android devices.In this free app, titled Chocobo GP’ (read as Chocobo GP Dash ), players will need navigate through wild and hectic stages to deliver treasure to the finish line and compete against friends to achieve the best score. The multiplayer in this game is either local or online with certain modes supported for either-or.Ĭhocobo GP offers a roster of characters from the Chocobo spin-off series that will race around courses inspired by the Chocobo series and the Final Fantasy Series. Those custom races include regular races, but also a survival race mode and a bracket-style tournament mode that can support up to 64 players. There will be a story mode to race through as well as custom racing. Fuck all that noise though, it cant be rewarded. I have fond memories of Chocobo Racing on the PS1 and enjoy kart racers, so I wouldve been happy to get this. All rides will have wheels and different characters’ rides have different attributes, those being speed, grip, acceleration and drift. I absolutely wouldve bought it if not for the gross mobile gaming money grabs. If you do so, you’ll be granted a single wish, anything your heart desires.
